April Golf Holiday, 25th April to 2nd May 2009. http://www.golf-in-london.co.uk/golf-school-coaches/EgyptLuxuryGolfHolidayApril09.html |
I am a class (AA) PGA Professional after amassing enough CPD points to increase my status from class A. I turned professional in 1998 after playing amateur golf for several years. During that time I was selected to represent the counties of Lanarkshire and Somerset, which I am very proud of.
I specialise in, and am passionate about, junior golf development. This stems from my own junior golf experience. I personally did not receive any golf instruction as a junior and I often wonder whether I could have been a better player with some advice from a PGA professional.
You will not meet a more dedicated golf coach and a big believer in self development. My next career focus is obtaining a Masters of Philosophy degree in Sports Coaching from Birmingham University, which I am currently undertaking.
I enjoy meeting new people and I consider myself very friendly. So if you are considering taking some lessons I look forward to helping you improve.

Junior Golf
I offer two options for parents to consider, the first is the Saturday classes and involve learning new motor skills involved in golf, introduction to the R & A rules and etiquette awareness. The vast majority of these sessions will take place on the golf range inside (mainly long game) and on the practice ground outside (mainly short game). I adopt a fun approach to learning with all my classes but at the same time I try to engage the young golfers to progress to the best of their ability. Each young golfer receives what is called a “Junior Golf Passport” please visit www.golf-foundation.org for more information. This is used to chart individual progressions through the ranks from total beginner to accomplished player, which will occur over the long term. Certificates are issued on completion and attainment of each level. The young golfers will come to realise that golf is a game for life and can bring many years of enjoyment and fulfilment. The Saturday classes do not require much parental support since the class time of one hour is short.
Sat Class Times
12pm –1pm Beginners – Intermediates aged 8-13
2pm – 3pm Beginners - Intermediates aged 10-13
The cost of the club is £90 every 8 weeks
Please note that due to the varying nature of class sizes and different progress rates of young golfers it is quite difficult to define a group’s ability, it can only be generalised over a given period of time. For that reason the group names above should be considered flexible and changeable in both directions.
The second option is the Sunday classes, which is more demanding from a time commitment perspective. These classes bridge the gap between what is learned in the Saturday classes and how to use them on the golf course. Each class is 90 minutes long where the players are involved more in development as players then the young players experience playing golf over 9 holes in various golfing formats e.g. Texas scramble, match play and stroke play which takes a further approx 90-120mins. Parental supervision is advised for juniors on the golf course until they are totally familiar with getting round the golf course in a safe and efficient manner.
Sun Class Times
10:30am – 2:00pm Ideal for first timers and perfect for girls as I have a 50% attendance level
1:00pm – 4:00pm Ideal for golfers who can score 55 or better individually
From time to time I hold a FREE parents group coaching session, where we all get the change to meet and discuss what has went well and what can be done better for the benefit of the young golfer. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to experience play on the golf course for the first time and with plenty of support This is also a great way for young people to meet like-minded new friends.
The cost of the club is £90 every 8 weeks plus course membership of either £120/ year or £30/ 8 weeks

Adrian is a calm and patient coach who listens and makes you feel comfortable even if you continuously miss the ball as I used to! Due to his commitment, support, and high level of coaching skills I now feel confident in my ability, can hit the ball regularly and have taken a keen interest in the sport.

Adrian passed the test a year and a half ago and became my pro. He revamped my swing, putting stroke and short game. Adrian was extremely patient and kept my spirits up by making me laugh when things went wrong. I have gained more confidence as I know my technique is now sound. Recently due to his help I won a long drive competition and I now hope to gain a single figure handicap.
